Tirunelveli District to Host 255 'Ungaludan Stalin' Camps for Public Grievance Redressal from July 15

In a massive initiative aimed at directly addressing the concerns of citizens, the Tirunelveli District Administration is set to organize 255 ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ camps across the district starting July 15, 2025, continuing until October 7, 2025. These camps are designed to redress genuine public grievances within 45 days from the date of application submission.

Massive Coverage Across Urban and Rural Regions

District Collector Dr. R. Sukumar announced that these camps will be held in:

  • Tirunelveli Corporation

  • Three municipalities

  • 17 town panchayats

  • 204 village panchayats

On Day 1, six camps will be conducted covering 19,165 households. In the first month alone, from July 15 to August 14, 114 camps are scheduled to cover 3,22,698 houses across both urban and rural areas.

Departments and Services Offered

In urban locations, officials from 13 government departments will offer 43 services, while in rural areas, 15 departments will address issues related to 45 services. These services aim to simplify access to government schemes, resolve pending issues, and bring governance closer to the people.

Door-to-Door Awareness Campaign

Volunteers are already conducting a door-to-door campaign to distribute awareness pamphlets and prescribed application forms. This ensures that residents are informed in advance and can prepare the necessary documents. A total of 114 supervisors have been appointed to monitor and coordinate the campaign efficiently.

Facilities Available at the Camps

Each camp will also feature:

  • Aadhar update/enrollment booths

  • “May I Help You?” counters by the Police Department

  • Preliminary health screening booths by the Public Health Department

  • E-seva centres for digital support

How the Grievance Redressal Works

Dr. Sukumar emphasized that grievances submitted during the camp will be addressed within 45 days. Senior officials will regularly monitor the progress to ensure timely resolution. This transparent and accountable framework is expected to boost public trust in local governance.

Avoid Overcrowding – Attend Your Local Camp

The Collector urged residents to attend the camps organized specifically in their areas to avoid overcrowding in nearby localities. Every village, town panchayat, and urban zone will host its own camp, ensuring equal access and efficiency for all.

“Please do not crowd camps in other areas. Wait for the one in your locality and use it to submit your grievance formally. This will help us provide better and faster service,” the Collector appealed.

Camp Schedule and Days

The camps will be held:

  • Four days a week

  • Six camps per day

  • No camps on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays
